Common Core Damage Will Last for Years to Come

Chance Layton

Common Core is on its way out, but its failures have deeper implications than simply another failed education policy. NAS President Peter Wood explains in the Heartlander that the problems won't disappear with the program, but will affect an “entire generation.” Moreover, Common Core promoted false promises of pushing America’s education program ahead, when in actuallity it has depressed any advancement to match or move past international benchmarks. The unfortunate legacy may ultimately discourage further education reform and create strains on minds and wallets for many years to come.
