#PCSubtitle: Fyodor Dostoyevsky

National Association of Scholars

Submissions for this contest are now closed. See the list of winners at the bottom of this post. See the next contest, on Ernest Hemingway, here

See last week’s winning #PCSubtitles for Beatrix Potter books here.

This week’s assignment is any book by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. We’ve already shared our #PCSubtitle for Crime and Punishment—The Case for Free College. Dostoevsky shows the travails of a debt-ridden, underprivileged student who lacks proper mental health resources. Poor Raskolnikov might never have turned to crime had his expenses been funded by taxpayers.

What politically correct subtitles can you concoct for, say, The Gambler, or The Brothers Karamazov? Share your submissions on Twitter with the hashtag #PCSubtitle and the NAS Twitter handle @NASorg. You can also fill out the form at the bottom of this post.
