NAS Welcomes Michael Toscano as Director of Research Projects

National Association of Scholars

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Toscano to the full-time position of Director of Research Projects.

Michael, a graduate of The King's College, has been my research assistant since September 2011 on the grant-funded project, "What Does Bowdoin Teach?"  We are currently writing up the final report for that project and planning to move ahead with other research.  Michael has also assumed primary responsibility for the Raiser's Edge database and will be spending part of his time on our development work.

Michael is a tireless researcher whose intuition and ingenuity have made the Bowdoin project far more successful than we could have dared to hope. Please join me in welcoming him to the NAS staff.

- Peter Wood

Here’s what Michael has to say about beginning at NAS:

It is my hope that the classrooms of American higher education will once again be a gateway to human flourishing, and my experience doing research for the “What Does Bowdoin Teach?” project has reinforced my belief that NAS is uniquely positioned to bring that about.
