The Value of College Degrees Is No More Settled than Is Global Warming

George Leef

From time to time, I come across articles written by people sympathetic to the higher ed establishment, claiming that some information "settles it" that getting a college degree is really a good investment. In today's Pope Center article, I respond to a recent IHE piece that did a little victory dance on the basis of the latest job figures. My argument is that such information is no more relevant to the case we critics make than a heat wave or blizzard is to the debate over global warming.
