VIDEO: A Discussion on K-12 History of Communism Standards

National Association of Scholars

Radical advocates within America’s education establishment propagandize for their polices above all by failing to teach the record of Communism.

Students do not know about the terrifying Soviet police state that was the model for Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany. They do not know about the tens of millions butchered by Communist regimes, including Russia, China, and Cambodia. They do not know how Communist regimes sought, with terrible success, to annihilate political liberty, religious liberty, economic liberty, and even the family. They do not know about the utter economic failure of Communism, or about such side effects of Communist policy as massive damage to the environment. They do not know about the Soviet espionage in America that helped secure the USSR the atomic bomb. They do not know about the sympathy too many American intellectuals felt for Communism, or how Communism has influenced modern movements such as Paulo Freire’s “Pedagogy of the Oppressed” or Critical Race Theory.

This is why the Civics Alliance has published their new Model K-12 History of Communism StandardsHistory of Communism provides guidelines for high school teachers to integrate the history of Communism, world-wide and in America, into social studies courses. These standards will ensure that students know about the actual tyrannical nature of Communist thought, the blood-stained history of Communist regimes, and the influence of Communist ideology on American politics.
